Careprost Eye drop is a Bimatoprost which belongs to a group of medicines called prostanoids. Careprost is an anti-glaucoma solution, used to reduce glaucoma and ocular hypertension. It is usually used with other drops called beta-blockers which also reduce pressure. Eyes contain a clear, watery liquid that keeps the eyes moist. The liquid is frequently produced and drained out to prevent eye infections and build-up of blood pressure. If the liquid cannot drain out quickly, the pressure inside the eye can build up causing strain to the veins in the eyes.
Bimatoprost is usually prescribed by doctors if he notices any sign of progression of glaucoma or ocular hypertension. Bimatoprost is a prostamide analog with ocular hypotensive action. It is designed to lower intraocular pressure by increasing the outflow of aqueous matter through both the trabecular meshwork and uveoscleral routes. The liquid is absorbed by the tissues within 10 minutes of application.
How does Careprost Works?
Careprost works by increasing the amount of substance that drains out from the eye, which helps to reduce the pressure inside the eye. If the high pressure is not reduced, it could lead to a disease called glaucoma, which can eventually damage your sight. It reduces intraocular pressure (IOP) by causing an increase in the discharge of the aqueous humor from the eyes.
