To apply eye drops, wash your hands first. To avoid any kind of contamination, avoid touch the tip of the dropper and do not let it touch your eye or any other surface. Bimatoprost contains a compound that stains contact lenses so if you wear contact lenses, remember to remove them before using the eye drop. Wait for at least 15 minutes after putting the drop before putting your lenses back in.

When putting the eye drops, tilt your head back, and pull down the lower eyelid to make a pouch. Hold the dropper close to your eye and place one drop into the lower eyelid. After you feel the eye drop, gently close your eyes for 1 to 2 minutes. Apply gentle pressure in the inner corner of the eye to allow the medicine to be adsorbed and prevent it from draining out. Try not to blink and do not rub your eye after putting the drop.

Replace the dropper cap after each use, and keep the cap tightly closed away from moisture or direct sunlight.

If you are using other eye drops along with Lumigan Eye Drops, wait at least 5 minutes before using other medication. If you are also prescribed eye ointments, use eye drops first to allow the liquid to enter the eye.

Use this medication regularly as instructed by the doctor to get good results. It is important to continue using Bimatoprost even if feel you have recovered until you plan to visit the doctor.
