Lumigan Eye Drops Is Ideal For Removing Pressure From The Eyes?

Lumigan contains bimatoprost which when applied in the eyes lowers the pressure in the eye by increasing the amount of fluid draining from the eye. Lumigan eye drops are used to treat glaucoma and ocular hypertension.

How to use Lumigan Eye Drops?

Lumigan eye drops must be used exactly as recommended by your doctor. Follow the instructions given by the doctor and avoid using this medicine in larger or smaller amounts than the recommended dose. Usually, the doctor advises putting 1 drop of Lumigan into the affected eye every evening.

Make sure your hands are clean before using the eye drops. Look up and stretch your eyelids to make your eyes bigger. Hold the dropper above the eye and squeeze a drop just above the eyelid.

Once you feel the drop in your eyes, close your eyes for 1 or 2 minutes without blinking. Gently press your finger to the inside corner of the eye, to prevent the liquid from seeping into the tear duct. Wait for at least 5 minutes before using any other eye drop.

Do not contaminate the eyedropper by touching the tip as it can cause infection in the eyes, which could lead to serious vision problems. Do not use Lumigan eye drops if it has crossed its expiry date or if the liquid has changed color. Call your pharmacist for new medicine. Do not use Lumigan if you have a recent eye injury or if you have had eye surgery. Keep this medicine in a cool, dark, and dry place, away from moisture and heat. Keep the bottle away from the reach of children.

Warnings

You should inform your doctor if you have any allergies to Bimatoprost. If you experience any allergies such as swelling or infection in your eye or retinal detachment inform your doctor immediately. You must also not use Lumigan if you recently had eye surgery or injured the lens of your eye.

Lumigan may cause a permanent change in the color of your eyes and even after the treatment ends. Only the treated eye will have a color change. There is no need to worry about it as these changes occur very slowly and you may not even notice them. You may also notice increased growth of your eyelashes.
